A much awaited Butter festival is celebrating this year on 17 Aug at Dayara Bugyal, near Raithal village in Uttarkashi. The butter festival known as Anduri Utsav (अंढूडी उत्सव) or Dudha and Mathaa Holi festival by local hill people. Tourists and residents alike smeared butter at each other’s face to mark the occasion. Every year Dayara Paryatan Utsav Samiti is organizing the Butter festival.
